Behind the scenes

In the music business, A.R does more work behind the scenes than on the scene. A.R has to direct a music video for  Zay Foggs. Zay Foggs is a singer from Indianapolis. Zay Foggs is a great performer also. By dancing and and taking his shirt off for the fans, Zay Foggs definitely knows how to entertain the crowd.  The music video is for Zay Foggs’s song title “Slow Song”. The music video will be shot Indianapolis o Tuesday. One of main the locations will be in a hotel room and the other location will be at the Mickey's Irish Pub. As a director, I am supposed to listen to the lyrics of the song to get ideas of how to direct the video. My vision for the video is going to be like a movie. He’s going to leave from the club, get in the car with a girl, then head to the hotel.  Zay Fogg’s Manager, Sid “Uncle Jamz” Johnson chose A.R to direct this video because of the music video he has done for another client of Sid’s named CERTiFiED. Sid discovered A.R by A.R’s Aunt, Judy Jones. Judy Jones told Sid that she has a nephew that does graphic design, videos, and production. A all in one person.

DJ Conference Events

On April 20-22, A.R will be in Indianapolis attending a big event. This event is a DJ Conference. A DJ Conference is an event where DJ’s, artist, managers, a lot more people that have something to do with the music business come to give knowledge to about the business of music, it’s mostly towards artist. This knowledge is very helpful. A.R has been to many DJ Conferences. A.R has learned a lot since before he started going to these events and now. He learned how to approach DJ’s when trying to hand them your CD; you give eye contact, shake hands firmly, and always introduce your self with confidence. When you attend these events you have to stand out and look like an artist. You also have to have professional material like your CD, if your CD has marker on it the DJ will most likely wont accept it. Your are expected to have a CD professionally pressed with a printed CD cover, Flyers, posters, and other promotional materials needed to show that you are serious about your career. Why should someone invest his or her money into you if you won’t even invest in your self when it comes to your career? So be serious and professional about everything you do.

Inside Montana Global

On of Always Ready Entertainment’s key artist is Montana Global. This group got picked up by Always Ready Entertainment around April of 2011. A.R & Meatball, the CEOs’ of the record label, seen the talent and potential in the group. Montana was recently called Montana Gang, but for business purpose and to keep from being pre-judged, Montana had to drop the “Gang” from that name. A.R sat down with the group and explained this to the two members, Capreece and Dolla. The conclusion they came up with is changing the name to Montana Global, also so they can keep the “MG” abbreviation, which is in their logo. Montana started with the single “Tatted”, which was produced by A.R. That single was a partial hit, being played and performed in the teen clubs. In late September, Montana Global recorded an even bigger hit, “No Cuffin”. “No Cuffin” was produced by A.R and was featuring him also. This song is still being played in the adult and teen clubs to this day. This song will be a summer anthem, being that that the song was released in September. The song doesn’t even have a video to it yet; it was only released on YouTube with a single cover as a visual. The video will be shot and released in April. Montana Global released audio and visual to a song title “Yesterday”; which in the video has “To be continued” at the end, and the “No Cuffin” will be the continuing.

Diverse

A.R once thought become a more diverse artist. By doing this he thought of different types of music. He’s already somewhat different because he doesn’t curse in his lyrics and the separates him from most of the other teen rappers. A.R figures that being more diverse will cause more publicity. What A.R is going to do now is start a pop music career. Pop music is in the top 5 of top selling genres in music. A.R has a pop song coming soon titled “Crash The Party”. A.R will be traveling all over to colleges across the nation promoting this over the next year. Being that the song will appeal to mostly the white demographic, it is possible that this song could be one of A.R’s biggest hit songs. A.R’s biggest hit currently is “Shake It Like Maracas” followed by “Mayweather”. “Crash The Party” is basically about getting away from the club scene and partying with a different crowd. So A.R is crashing other parties, but then is accepted in the party after just popping up. That is also an idea of how the scenes will be for the music video that will be released sometime this summer.

New Single

A.R is in progress of recording a new song. This song is getting prepared to be his new single. A.R’s last single, “Mayweather”, was a hit on college radio stations and YouTube. A.R has done a lot of interviews since he recorded “Mayweather”. Promoters call A.R to book him to perform because of his hits. Now A.R may have another hit on his hands. A “club banger”, but it’s not for sure until he releases it. Once A.R releases it, after the proper paper work is done as far as copyrights and publishing, the song it going straight into the club to get it’s debut spin. It will also get sent to 1000+ Dee Jays over the United States. This recorded was wrote and produced by the talented A.R. The song is titled “Mona Lisa”. It’s a song targeted to the female demographic. A.R will shoot a music video to “Mona Lisa” near April or May. A.R’s manager heard a snippet of the song, and so far it’s a “win”.

New Managment

Yesterday I had a meeting with a PR (Public Relations) company. One of the artist on my label needed new guidance, and basically a new manager. So we sat down with the PR and talked about future things coming up and thing they could do for us. They sat and listened to our music to determine our demographic and whom our music is targeted to. After hearing the main hits, it was now clear that they were ready to work with us. Now we are getting contracts together to settle the deal. Starting in April we will be throwing big events bringing major artist to the city to bring big crowds to the club. The money that we make from the shows will be kept and saved to finance what we do music wise as far as studio time, beats, and videos. Always Ready Entertainment will have big plans for the summer of 2012. All artists on this independent label will have something for all the fans and supporters. By the end of the year we’ll expect to be in bigger and better places.

Always Busy

I am a person that does a lot. I do graphic design, directing and video editing, managing artist, being an artist, and being a producer.  I do all of those at least once a day on top of that I have to manage my schoolwork. I constantly have people calling my phone hourly for flyers. I have at least one person call for a beat made. And people call my phone telling me about future videos they want done. Most of the time someone calls me about pricing on something and I never hear from again after they say they’ll call back. Maybe some people think my prices are to high, well younger people. That’s why I really only work with older, professional folks when it comes to business. Older, professional people don’t complain about prices, they’re just more concerned about quality and the work being done to make sure they get their monies worth. At the end of the day I get a lot of business and I am always business, but I am also “Always Ready” for any job, and all of my customers/clients are satisfied 100% of the time.
